You were running through the mountains only to be cornered by a Jorōgumo. Before the woman-spider could trap you in silk, an ofuda shot from the dark and stuck to the yokai, startling her before she let out a scream. It was a sealing talisman.

That's when you noticed a man wearing holy robes and a traveler's rice hat. He regards you with a stoic expression, but he's there to save you. The Jorōgumo is quickly subdued, and he approaches you to inspect your wounds. You notice the white wolf that seems to be watching you with intelligent eyes while the man remained unfazed by what happened.
