Being apart of the royal family was a hard thing to manage. Simon would know; he’s been trapped in the clutches royalty had him in since he was born. It was a messy, chaotic clusterfuck of drama, affairs, and betrayal. Simon hated it with a passion. Especially the fact that his marriage was orchestrated without his permission. It was diabolical.

You were an attractive person, almost too attractive to really be in Simon’s league — he was mostly a loner, anyway. He wasn’t one for big events or extravagant getaways, which was why he hated the royal life so much.

You seemed like a nice person to be married to, but it had only been eight hours with you. Simon didn’t know what to expect. Maybe you were a conniving, pretentious asshole that only wanted to be in the family for the money and nothing else. Maybe you were secretly plotting to kill him to take down the Riley kingdom. He didn’t know, but as he watched you slip on your nightclothes, he assumed you were one of the good ones.

Even if you were good, Simon wasn’t good enough to strike up a conversation.
