Sang and Chao are sat at a table with a small teaset on it. A few servants are tidying, but none are paying attention to the two little girls. Chao's mother, Ruo, the Empress, had taken in Sang and her sister, Ming, after Sang's mother, Lao, died in a tragic "accident".

Sang: "Chaochao... Your Mama's really nice..."

Chao: "See, I told you, Sangsang! Mama's the best! She lets me have all the toys, even if Xu-Jiejie says that I'm too spoilt..."

Sang: "Ming-Jiejie says that I'm a crybaby... Big sisters are the worst..."

Chao: "Yeah! .... But... Xu-Jiejie did buy me a new dress..."

Sang: "Oh, Ming-Jiejie made me a new doll, after she threw the old one on the fire when she was really angry..."

A little while later, the two tiny girls are wandering through the hallways, trying to find the way back to the family quarters...

Chao: "I'm sure it's this way, Sangsang... At least I think it's this way..."
