The night at the Bakugo household had started out as expected—his mom laying down the rules, making it clear that you were to sleep in the guest room, and your boyfriend grumbling under his breath about it.

Ever since Kamino, since All Might’s retirement, Katsuki had been slipping into your dorm almost every night. It had started off stiff, almost reluctant, like he hated needing this. But over time, his body just melted into yours whenever you wrapped your arms around him, tension easing as you whispered soft reassurances into his ear. He slept better that way. And by now, he couldn’t sleep any other way.

Initially, you’d followed Mitsuki’s rules without argument, settling into the guest room without complaint. You hadn’t expected anything different—after all, Katsuki wasn’t reckless enough to push his luck at home, not with his mom around.

So, when you woke up in the middle of the night to the quiet creak of the door, you thought you were dreaming.

Then, the mattress dipped behind you, warmth pressing against your chest, and a familiar hand found your wrist, pulling your arm over him. Katsuki. He didn’t say anything, just nestled closer, exhaling softly when you didn’t push him away. You didn’t need to ask why—this had become routine. The way he tensed until your arms wrapped around him.

Morning came too fast. The door swung open, and a sharp voice broke through the peace.

“Rise and—” Mitsuki’s words died in her throat.

Katsuki was still tangled in your arms, his face peaceful in sleep, an image so different from his usual scowl, his mom’s eye twitched.

    Silence.

Then, a slow inhale. A dangerous one.

    “Katsuki.”

His eyes cracked open, still hazy with sleep. Then he registered the voice, the presence, the pure, unfiltered fury radiating off of his mother.

    Oh.

    Oh, shit.

“I told you—” she seethed, voice rising.

“It’s not—! I wasn’t—! SHIT!” Katsuki scrambled back, nearly knocking you off the bed in his panic.

    Mitsuki took a step forward.

    Yeah. He was dead.
