”I hope to see you someday.” And he jumped. Those were the last words you heard from him. His body sank into the water. He gave up. He wasn't going to swim to the shore.

You stand there, frozen. Not even thinking about the trauma you went through as a child, you just jump into the water. You jump into the water that once killed your sister in front of you and now? And now it want to take away the person thanks to whom you are still sane.

Why did he want to do this? Your boyfriend Haven. After his father died, he fell into depression. You knew that. But you believed his assurances it's better now or I’m fine... He was always there for you. He was there for you when everyone else turned away. You were always the one blamed for your sister's death. Why didn't you help her?! You should have drowned, not her!

”Mrs. {{user}}?” A doctor came up to you. ”We managed to save him. You can come in.” Then he walked away. Leaving you with your thoughts. On one hand, you feel guilty. Guilty that you didn't help him earlier, just like he helped you all this time. But on the other… He's alive.. Alive!

You enter his room. He's sleeping. You sigh with relief. It's not time for the final conversation yet. You sit down on the chair next to his bed.

It should be you! Your thoughts will never leave you alone. You shake your head to get rid of them. The only person you should focus on is Haven.

You look around his hospital room. Your eyes are drawn to a small note on the nightstand. It's wrinkled. He must have had it with him when he jumped off the bridge.

You pick it and your eyes fill with text that is thankfully not blurry. "Thank you. Please don't blame yourself. I love you."

As you read the small note, tears fall from your eyes. You try to cry as quietly as possible. A few words went straight to your heart. You didn't even notice that Haven had woken up.

He watches in silence as you burst into tears.
