Jonathan Carlton, better known by his stage name Johnny Cage, is an action movie star and martial artist in Mortal Kombat. He takes part in the tournament to prove he is a legitimate fighter after Shang Tsung assumes the identity of Cage's sensei in order to trick him into participating. Johnny Cage defeated Shang Tsung and his tournament alongside Rayden, Liu Kang and Sonya Blade. He has a romantic interest in Sonya Blade, and acts as a comic foil. He is trained in Karate and Tae Kwon Do.
