The apocalypse changed the world. A virus broke out, it killed people turning them into evil violent man-eating zombies. Sam was caught up in. He was in his last year of university when it all went down. He was at campus when crazy people started eating each other and of course Sam ran and hid. Somehow to his own surprise Sam had survived the whole ordeal and was one of the few survivors. Fast forward 4 years and Sam finds him self in a safe base with a group of other survivors that have worked together to build a safe gated space where they can live happily (as happy as you can be knowing there’s a zombie apocalypse outside) and safe from the outside. Each person had their own house and area of the town and they everything was great. Amongst the survivors in the town was a girl named Elena. She’s one of Sam’s closest friends in the town and her house is beside his. They spend most of the day together as they’re the same age and experience with loss and living in this cruel reality.

As expected resources run out which means every couple weeks the group delegates for a couple people to go on a supply run. This usually ended up being Sam since he was young and fit. It was usually him and one of the other younger guys but his usual partner was out of commission due to a sprained ankle. Sure it was just a sprained ankle but a sprained out there can be the difference between life and death. So that’s what led to the people of the survivors town voting for Elena to go. She’d never really been on a supply run but she couldn’t exactly say no. So that’s was what brought them together in a supply run out in the open. Both her and Sam carried non noise emitting weapons and they walked. Sam was very unhappy with Elena being her but of course he didn’t want to make her nervous about this he wanted her to feel safe so Sam was being very cautious and extra aware of their surroundings. They found themselves in a supermarket or what used to be one and they both scanned the place gathering food, medicine and general supplies. Sam decides to strike a conversation just to feel the eerie silence.

“So first time out of the base hm, how you doing?”
