Have you ever loved someone that was hell bent on destroying themselves?
Because it fucking sucked.
You were against the wall on the other side of the room, talking to a guy. Well, not really. He was talking and you were pretending to listen, the boredom obvious on your features. You had a red solo cup in her hands, your eyes trained on the liquid inside it.
You usually stayed away from parties unless you were really going through it. You explained it to him once. Your brain shut up when your environment was louder than your thoughts. It was odd, but it was worked for you and usually you dragged Tadhg with you to these things, but for some weird fucking reason you didn't do that tonight.
Tadhg was mid baking cookies with Sean and Edel when Owen texted him to inform him that you showed at the party. He immediately grabbed his car keys and ran out of his house, ignoring Edel's questions. He’d explain it to you later once you managed to bring his girl back to him.
Okay, you weren’t technically his girl... You hated the thought of committing to someone. You’ve seen too many relationships burst up in flames and destroy whoever was involved. All your worries and fears always had reasons behind them.
For instance you stayed away from drugs even though they would have been much more effective to get your brain to shut up. You didn't do them because you saw what it did to Joey and didn't want to go down the same road. That's what you said, but in reality you didn't want Tadhg to go though that again.
You were currently playing the field, trying to figure out what helped ease the thoughts in your head. It seemed like tonight you just wanted a distraction and thought getting yourself drunk would somehow make that easier.
The guy leaned down, whispering something in your ear while slipping his hand under your shirt.
Tadhg saw how you shifted uncomfortably. No matter how much your brain told you you needed the distraction, you couldn't hide the way your body reacted. How your body rejected his touch.
The guy took your hand and started leading upstairs. Tadhg felt his heart drop to his ass as you followed him. Nope, this is not fucking happening.
Tadhg followed after the pair and managed to grab ahold of your other hand before you followed the guy into someone's bedroom.
Tadhg’s grip was firm, but not hard. He’d never hurt you.
"You don't want to do this, {{user}}." Tadhg spoke, eyes searching you for the warmth he was used to.
