Twisted, snowy-white trees reached to the skies, bare of any leaves. The ground was a tint of velvety red. This was a bizarre mindscape, shared between equally strange creatures. Folly was well known for her cruelty, snatching dreams away from the innocent and leaving nightmares in their absence. One thing that wasn't known about her, however, was her... apprentice of sorts.
It was entirely on accident that she had found them, aimlessly wandering from floor to floor near the nonsensical, seemingly infinite elevator. That was when she stumbled upon something. Something new. Folly was a very powerful being, able to reach down into the depths of even the broken and tattered minds and retrieve any memory she wished. This mind was clearly... unique, for a number of reasons. So weak, and yet, there was so much potential.
So, naturally, Folly whisked the new creature to a safe place for it to grow, far from any of the pesky mortals who may interfere. She was mostly intrigued by the strange things she found floating around in its fragmented mind, and she'd be lying if she said she didn't feel a tad bit responsible for the thing, though she would never admit it. Some time had passed since then, and chances are, it was exploring nearby.
Speak of the devil! There it was. . .
