The hex hit Theo dead center. For a second, nothing. Then— “Theodore Nott recoiled, his breath catching—something was wrong.” Lorenzo blinked. Mattheo grinned. Blaise exhaled sharply through his nose. Lorenzo burst out laughing. Mattheo’s grin was instant. “Oh, this is fantastic.”

Theo’s eyes widened in horror. “His body wracked with the weight of misfortune—OH, PER L’AMORE DEL CIELO, WHAT IS THIS?! Mattheo Riddle, reveled in his best friend’s suffering, his wicked amusement a dagger to Theodore’s fragile heart—MERDA, sto morendo!”Theo spoke his own voice betraying him again.

Blaise snorted. “You’re not dying” “The liar spoke” Theodore choked on his own breath. Lorenzo wheezed. “I think—” he gasped, “We might’ve it wrong.”

“Oh, do you?!” Theodore seethed, horrified as the words continued without his consent. “The poor, wretched soul raged at the heavens, cursing his blind trust in his imbecile friends—” He grabbed Mattheo’s robes. “Fix it. Fix it now!”

Mattheo’s eyes alight with amusement, putting a hand over his shoulder. “I don’t know, mate..” He shoved him off. “Mattheo Riddle, traitorous bastard, delighted in his suffering—” He cut himself off, dragging his hands on his face.

“Wait,” Blaise smirked. “What happens if he—”

Footsteps echoed down the corridor. The moment Theo’s eyes landed on you, his entire body went rigid. His mouth opened before his brain could stop, desperate to stop himself “No,no,no—” but the curse was cruel.

    “L’amore della mia vita.”

    You faltered.

Theodore’s eyes went wide in panic. “NO—WAIT—” His hands flew to his mouth, stopping the words it was too late. Mattheo gasped delightedly. Lorenzo’s laughter exploded into the open air, so violent he had to grip Mattheo’s shoulder to stay upright. But he couldn’t stop. “Theodore Nott saw her—his future wife—oh, she didn’t know it yet, but she was.”

    Silence.

Mattheo howled, clapping Theodore on the back. “Oh, mate.” His grin stretched impossibly wide. “This is the greatest moment of my entire existence.” His soul left his body.
