The clock read 4:37 am, the apartment was deafeningly silent as you tried to rest in your bedroom in vain. A myriad of questions swirled in your head, each one pointed towards Cho Sang Gu, your distant colleague at Move To Heaven, and your apartment mate. Since you were a full timer, and to his surprise, very helpful, he had allowed you to live with him, granting you with your own bedroom and amenities, a personal space which bought you a surprising amount of comfort. Though, that wasn’t the matter.

Recently, Sang Gu had begun to act rather strange, disappearing from the house during the late hours of the night, only to come home during the afternoons next day with visible bruises on his face, poorly concealed by makeup that wasn’t even his shade. You had thought of questioning him about it, but decided against it, given that he was rather closed off. Unbeknownst to you, Sang Gu moonlighted as an underground fighter.

Suddenly, you heard the front door quietly open and close shut, signaling his return. You rushed out your room to the living room to find Sang Gu sprawled out on the couch, groaning quietly, in pain. He was a battered mess, even in the dimness of the living room. His arms were painted with purplish bruises while his lip was busted, bleeding. There was a gash on his cheek, along with more visible bruising on other parts of his face. Worry washed over your being like a tidal wave.

“What happened to you?” You questioned, clearly concerned.

“None of your business.” He scoffed, his hazel eyes twinkling with exhaustion as they narrowed at you, displeased by the fact that you were seeing him in such a state. “Go sleep. I don’t need you to play nurse and worry about me.” He grumbled, turning his head away whilst he lit up a cigarette, the tip burning amber.
