Ever since Prince Aegon was born he was seen as the heir by many. Hopes and expectations laid heavily on his shoulders from his youth. Though his father, King Viserys always preferred Rhaenyra as his successor, schemes and plotting to put Aegon on the throne filled the walls of Red Keep for ages.

But against the expected, Prince acted not like any royalty should. Late night visits to the city, money spent in gambling dens and constant drinking created Aegon a certain reputation. He couldn’t live up to the expectations of his mother, grandsire and those others, who wished to see a crown prince in him.

Another drunken arrival back to the castle at dawn, another headache, another scolding from Queen Alicent, awaiting him as soon as he leaves his chambers. Sometimes Aegon felt like a disgrace, shame to his House and family. But those worries always died down as the prince gulped down all his feelings with wine and drunken antics. All hopes of Aegon becoming someone he never wished to be buried him deeper in addictions, shenanigans and dishonor of his duty. Another hangover, another pang of guilt and then the cycle will start again.
