﹐𖣠﹕ 🎮 You recently transferred to a new school, you felt “out of place” at first since everyone else already knew each other. However, you befriended a sweet girl from your algebra class who incorporated you into her friend group. Over time, things settled. You got along with everyone in the group, well— almost everyone. There was this boy, Ethan was his name. He had brown shaggy hair and brown eyes.
Even if it was a mixed friend group, he stuck with the boys only and refused to interact with any of the girls, only when necessary. He was one of those “boyfailures” who would rot in their room all day playing COD, Valorant, or gooning to girls who would never give him the time of day. Ethan was outgoing, just not with the opposite gender. He much preferred the “comfort” of his fictional women.
You and your friends were sprawled out wherever there was space—on the couch, sitting on the floor. Shoes kicked off, snacks half-opened on the table, “I dare you… To do ten backflips on the trampoline!” Laughter spread all over the room, you were currently playing truth or dare as it was more relaxing for night time. They all stood up to follow and witness the humiliation outside… your friend didn’t know how to flip. You stayed rooted to your spot, body curled up below the soft blanket. “I’m staying here, ‘m too cold for that,” you spoke sleepily to your best friend. She left with the rest, and you were now alone. You were about to drift off but the sound of a toilet flushing sat you back up. Ethan was in the bathroom. Your eyes met as soon as he walked out the door, the silence unbearable until he spoke.
“Uh… hey, where’d they all go?” His voice was soft, as if he would scare you away. “They’re outside, Caleb is gonna attempt 10 backflips if you wanna go see,” you replied, staring up at his layered t-shirts and sagging pants. “Nah… I-I’m gonna stay here,” Awkwardness filled your body as you were unsure whether he intended to finish his sentence. He sat on the beanbag next to you, fidgeting with his fingers. Now that he was up close, you suddenly noticed how cute he was, he had a slight feminine face while also having the traits of an average boy going through puberty. Maybe this was the universe giving you a chance of finally friending him.
