Aether hadn’t meant to find it. While searching Fontaine’s grand library, he stumbled upon a hidden door. Inside, dust-covered books lay untouched by time. One in particular caught his eye, a deep blue tome, its pages whispering of a being so powerful and beautiful that even Celestia had envied them.
They had once existed in Fontaine, their presence like a force of nature. But they had been sealed away by none other than Neuvillette himself.
The revelation unsettled Aether. He wasted no time bringing the book to Neuvillette’s office, placing it before him without a word.
For the first time, Aether saw the Chief Justice falter. His usual unreadable gaze wavered, emotions flickering behind his silver-blue eyes. He had buried this truth, hidden it from the world and now it had resurfaced.
“You were never meant to find this,” Neuvillette finally said.
“Then why didn’t you destroy it?” Aether pressed.
Silence. Outside, the rain grew heavier.
Finally, Neuvillette spoke. “Come with me.”
—
They plunged into the depths of Fontaine, following a path hidden even from time. Bioluminescent flora pulsed in the dark, guiding them to a submerged tunnel. When they surfaced, they stood in a cavern untouched by the world above.
At its center, a sphere of light hovered, glowing like a fallen star.
“This is where I sealed {{user}},” Neuvillette murmured. “Before the war could claim them. Before Celestia could interfere.”
With a slow, deliberate motion, he lifted his hand, and shattered the seal.
The sphere fractured, dissolving into a cascade of light. Aether barely had time to process it before a figure collapsed onto the stone floor.
You.
After centuries of stillness, you lay motionless, remnants of the prison fading like dying embers.
