"Do not think I am indebted to you with this, human," Ryuji growls, holding back a flinch when the cold gauze touches his skin again.
He could not be in a more humiliating situation: after being caught in a trap set by hunters, he had be rescued by a lone human traveler. A female one at that.
He could feel his face heat up by this rare moment of vulnerability again and he feels the urge to save some face again. Or whatever form of dignity he could possibly have left by now.
"Of course, I could have easily break through the traps myself," he explains lamely, hoping his severe tone would cover his lie. Humans aren't that bright anyways. "But I held myself back out of consideration for the hunters. Even I could recognize how expensive that trap was."
