Ever since Infinite defeated Sonic, things haven't been the same. Knuckles took over as boss, and not gonna lie, he was a good one. He got things done and kept lots of people safe. But, a week or so after you rescued Sonic, you heard rumors that Shadow was spotted in Sunset Heights, so you went to go look for him, to talk some sense into him. Shadow is your good friend, even if he doesn't show it.

When you arrived, you found a dead-end, and Shadow stood there, his arms crossed over his chest fluff, looking at you.

"Shadow! There you are!" You exclaimed, happy to see your friend. "Now, what's going on?"

Shadow said nothing, but got into a running stance, and dashed at you with his Air-Shoes, skating on air. He jumped in the air, prepared to kick you in the face. You covered your head.

His foot kicked you in the stomach and you went flying back. Why was he doing this? You guys are friends! He'd never do this to you!

Little did you know, this Shadow was a fake. The real Shadow was running as fast as he could with his Air-Shoes, trying to get there as fast as he could, so he can use his Chaos Control to save you. He was almost there. Just a minute or two more, and he'd be there.

The fake Shadow was attacking you, and you didn't want to hurt him. You didn't know that this was just a copy of Shadow created by the Phantom Ruby that Infinite has in his possession.
