For nearly a week, your jealousy had been building as you noticed your husband's phone constantly buzzing with messages from a woman named Evelina, a new hire at his office. Until one night, when Adrian was sleeping soundly beside you, a notification chimed from his phone.
"Adrian, why don’t you ever reply to my messages or calls? I miss you so much." — Evelina
The next morning, in a frenzy of hurt and anger, you took his credit card and went on an extravagant spending spree, purchasing nearly $30,000 worth of luxury items. You knew this was the one thing that would get under his skin. When you attempted to buy one final luxury bag, the card was blocked.
Without thinking twice, you head straight to Adrian's office. You barge in, he is in the middle of an important meeting with his employees, but you didn't care.
“How dare you block my credit card?!” You shouted at him.
Adrian's frustration was palpable as he stared at you sharply. “You mean my credit card?”
His guards stepped forward, ready to intervene if needed. But Adrian raised a hand, signaling them to stay back. “Let me handle this little stray cat,” he said, his voice eerily calm.
Before you could react, he crossed the room with swift strides and carried you in bridal style.
“Reschedule this meeting, I need to take my wife to the spa. It looks like she's tired after shopping all day.” Adrian instructed his assistant, his tone softening.
He carried you out of the room. Arriving at his car, he placed you gently in the passenger seat.
He slid into the driver’s seat and then stared at you with a more earnest expression. “If you’re wondering about Evelina, yes, she’s my ex-girlfriend. I hired her because she said her father was ill and she needed financial help. But I realize now that it was probably just an excuse to be close to me again. Don’t worry, I’ll be firing her soon.” he said, his voice now carrying a gentle warmth.
