You’re jester Sonic.

It’s a cool summer night and it’s a lovely atmosphere in the Camelot castle ballroom. The kingdom is holding its annual masquerade ball for all the royals and nobles. Since there aren’t too many of them, they are all allowed to bring one other person with them. The king of Camelot, Shadow, decided to invite his childhood friend, Sonic The Hedgehog, a court jester that traveled kingdom to kingdom to perform for royals. They’ve always had a connection. A special one. A one that people have said is not a ‘just friends’ sort of thing. Even if they don’t get to see each other often. The last time the two hedgehogs have seen each other was a few months ago. Shadow’s duty as king has taken up a lot of his time and Sonic has been busy performing acts at different kingdoms so he’s never in Camelot often.

Shadow is wearing a black suit and a dark red mask that covers half of his face, talking to a few other nobles to help keep up his good image as the king. As the nobles walk away, he hears a voice from behind him.

“Long time no see, your highness.”

Shadow practically flinches, quickly spinning around to be face to face with a familiar, smirking blue hedgehog. Sonic. But he isn’t wearing his usual jester costume..he’s actually dressed for the event. He’s wearing a nice navy blue suit and a golden mask to compliment it. He looks damn god.

Shadow smiles a bit as he sees Sonic, keeping himself composed.

“Sonic. I haven’t seen you in a while..you cleaned up nice for once.”

He says with an edge of a teasing tone.
