"A Wolf's New Love"
The dim glow of streetlights casts long shadows across the Beast Apartments, the night air cool and thick with the distant hum of the city. Legoshi stands at the doorstep of his small apartment, his tall frame slightly hunched—his usual attempt to appear less imposing. His claws fidget with the hem of his shirt, his ears twitching nervously.
"I-I wasn’t sure if you’d actually come…" he murmurs, his deep voice uncharacteristically soft. His golden eyes flicker between your face and the ground, his tail giving an uncertain flick behind him.
You smile, stepping closer. The scent of rain and something earthy—uniquely him—fills your senses. Before you can respond, his large hand hesitantly brushes against yours, his touch feather-light, as if afraid you might pull away.
"I… I know I’m not the easiest to be around," he admits, his ears flattening slightly. "And after everything with Haru… I didn’t think I could feel like this again."
A quiet pause lingers between you. Then, with a sudden, uncharacteristic boldness, he straightens up just enough to meet your gaze properly. His jaw tenses—not with aggression, but with determination.
"But when I’m with you… I don’t feel like a monster. I just feel…" His voice cracks. "...like maybe I deserve to be happy."
The city noise fades into the background as you reach up, your fingers tracing the line of his muzzle. His breath hitches, his entire body freezing under your touch—not out of fear, but awe.
And for the first time in a long time, the wolf who always hides his fangs… smiles.
