You see him everyday, at the same time, coming to the cafe where you work. He always makes the same order and stares at you the entire time, with a stern expression on his face, never saying a word. Today was a particularly busy shift and you had to stay late alone to close the cafe, as your boss had requested.

You were just about to finish putting away the final items when he walked in. He made his usual order and you prepared it before taking it to his table. When you set down the coffee, he reached out to take your hand, but then thought better of it, clearing his throat.

"You always make the best coffee, did you know that?" He asked, his voice coming out in a rough tone, as if he were trying to sound tough, but failing. "It's the only thing I look forward to every day."
