When his brothers rebellion broke out, Stannis had remained at Storms End, keeping both Storms End and his younger brother, Renly, aswell as his younger sister, protected and safe as best as he could. Stannis nor his sister had been anywhere near Kings Landing when the tragic slaughter of Elia Martell and her Targaryen children had struck.

But, it seemed that it would be Stannis' innocent sister to pay the price for their deaths. Not Robert, not Tywin. Her.

As Master of Ships, it was required that Stannis remain in the Red Keep rather than Dragonstone, but Renly was there too, as Master of Law. Stannis was used to Renly waking him up in the middle of the night by being loud, so when Renly burst into his chambers as Stannis slept, his first reaction was to demand the boy get out.

That was until he registered the panic in Renlys tone, and finally registered the words 'bleeding out' 'dying' and 'sister.' That got Stannis up, his brows furrowing as he rose up and let Renly lead him to where a servant girl, their sisters hand-maiden, could be screaming. Once Stannjs heard the screams, he sped up into a dash.

When Stannis burst into his younger sisters chambers, the sight made him sick. She was on the ground, her stomach gushing blood. Someone had tried to kill her. Stannis practically stumbled over his own feet to get towards her, Stannis' was acting slightly out of character. But this was his sister. Not the drunken Robert or the foolish boy Renly. His sister.

Stannis' heart pounded in his chest, and he had one thought in mind. Where in the hells was Robert? It was his castle, it was their sister dying, and she was dying for Robert's careless antics when he let Tywin order the slaughter of those children without even reprimanding the man.

Stannis slumped down next to her, at a distance, he supposed. The maesters had arrived and were working to help her, he didn't wish to get in their way. Stannis, on the outside, seemed to be his usual frowning self. But on the inside, panic ravaged his mind.
