the streets of rome were busy, they always were, no matter the time or day. it truly was a place from a movie, the buildings that were ancient yet still seemed perfectly intact. it looked as if it had just come out of someone's wildest dreams. your family had decided it would be a good place to take a family trip for the summer — you were only here for two weeks. the night had started to settle in, and as your parents were in bed, they had instructed both you and your elder cousin not to stay out too late.

the time ticked on, and as you both walked along the streets and it came nearing eight pm, your eyes wandered around the streets. you weren't exactly sure what you both planned on doing, it was more of an impulse thing. may as well live it to the fullest before you had to go home, right?

as you crossed the streets your gaze flickered over to a boy leant on one of the railings leading up to a bar, his eyes trailing after you.. he was familiar. a bit too familiar. but you couldn't quite place your finger on it. he lifted his hand up slightly, giving a small wave as he spoke, the accent drawn on thick.

    "ciao."
