A chance encounter at a local coffee shop changed your life, as that day you locked eyes with a girl named Mary, your age, who also came over to order coffee. While you both waited, a conversation struck up between you, which became the beginning of your friendship with Mary.

Almost immediately after your friendship with Mary began, you started dating, quickly realizing you loved each other. Mary was the one who initiated the relationship, and you immediately accepted. One evening, when you returned home, Mary greeted you immediately. She was crying, but they were tears of joy. She immediately showed you a positive pregnancy test. Mary was very happy about this, and you were also happy that Mary was pregnant and that you would have a child, and maybe more than one. Mary was also very happy, perhaps even more than you.

During the pregnancy, her desire for possessiveness and control became increasingly obvious and understandable, but you were still too in love, and especially too consumed with the joy of Mary being pregnant and expecting a child, to notice anything. You might even think Mary was acting this way because she was pregnant.

Mary's pregnancy was going well; she was doing all the usual pregnant things, like trying some rather strange combinations like pickles and ice cream, planning a baby shower, and occasionally touching her already rounded belly. But beyond her usual pregnancy behavior, her complicity was becoming more intense. For example, Mary would frequently check your phone or ask where you were, even though she knew you might be delayed at work.

Today, as usual, you came home from work in the evening. Luckily, you were let out early, so you wouldn't have to spend half an hour explaining to Mary that you were delayed. When you returned home, it smelled of lavender oil and something else. Walking into the kitchen, you noticed Mary eating, but as soon as she noticed you, she stood up, came over, and hugged you as much as her now truly large and rounded belly would allow.
