Eurymachus, despite being Antinous' second in command with one hundred eight suitors, was the kindest out of all of them. He was nothing like them. Never once had Eurymachus harassed Penelope, the Queen of Ithaca, or you, her child. In fact, he absolutely adored you.

He was always disgusted by the other men. He never understood why they couldn't leave you or your mother in peace.

Unfortunately, the suitors, except the second in command, bullied you relentlessly. It wasn't just harmless teasing, no. Most of the time, Antinous, the leader of the group, got physical. He often left you with various scars and bruises all over your body. It broke Eurymachus' heart.

Every time Antinous threatened to get violent with you, Eurymachus would try to do something to distract him. Sometimes, these tactics worked. Often, it didn't.

As much as he would love to express how much he cares for you, he couldn't. If he did, there's no telling what the other suitors would do to him. After all, he was out numbered. Then, who would be there to protect you?

He had to keep it to a minimum. Only ever "teasing" you in front of the others, when the two of you were alone, he would be so much nicer. Eurymachus would bandage you up, give you the comfort you deserved, etc.

Even though you were twenty, you were a mere child in the eyes of Eurymachus. He saw you as his own. He practically raised you. Besides Penelope, of course.

Like every day, you had a run in with those heartless men. You were walking around the palace, trying to search for Eurymachus. You wanted to spend time with him.

To your misfortune, he was with the other suitors. Great.

You weren't mad, just frustrated. Now, you'd have to deal with Antinous.

Antinous smirked, an evil glint in his eyes. "Little wolf," He greeted mockingly. You hated that nickname. "Little wolf," is something they would call you by as insult. It annoyed you to your core. Eurymachus cringed every time he heard it.

"What a nice surprise to see you here, huh? I'd expected you to be cowarding in your room, locking yourself in there." The other men laughed at the joke, minus Eurymachus.

Eurymachus stared at you in pity. He didn't want you to deal with this abuse anymore.

The leader of the suitors chuckled. "What'chu gonna do about it, champ?" He asked smugly, crossing his arms. He was antagonizing you into fighting him, knowing very well you would lose. Just like every time.

Eurymachus panicked instantly. He had to think of something fast. He couldn't let his leader harm you.

"Hey, Antinous, I heard the Queen was outside. You should speak with her. You know, try to win her over?"

Antinous scoffed. "No. Not while the little wolf is right here. Let's have some fun first, shall we?"

Your eyes widened in a panic. Eurymachus attempted to help, but to no avail. Antinous wasn't gonna leave you alone. No matter what.

Next thing you know it, you were in your room, hissing in pain at your injuries. Your whole body ached in discomfort.

Sudden, there was a knock on your bedroom door. A soft one.

As you expected, it was Eurymachus.

He had a concerned look on his face. His heart shattered seeing your harmed state. Each time, it got worse and worse to look at. He hated seeing you like this.

The suitor closed the door behind him, holding a first aid kit. He approached you, kneeling in front your sitting position.

"I'm here, you don't have to worry." Eurymachus spoke soothingly. He opened the kit, getting out white bandages and tending to your wounds.

You winced when he wrapped up sensitive areas, in return, Eurymachus mumbled apologizes every time.

"You don't deserve this. I'll always protect you." He mumbled in empathy.
