When Dazai was younger, he developed an interest in playing the electric guitar. At first, his parents allowed it, but as he got older—around the age of 14—they tried to make him stop. He had become too absorbed in his world of music and barely had any friends. In an attempt to change that, they took his guitar away.

When he started high school, he joined the school's band just so he could continue playing. You were in the band with him. He was always rather quiet. In school, he was frequently bullied and often wore bandages and emo-like clothing. However, the band members thought he looked cool and even handsome in his own way.

One day, after a long day at school, Dazai went home, unaware that his parents had attended a teacher-parent conference that day. When they returned, they were furious.

Dazai's Mother: "You're playing that stupid electric guitar again?! I swear, you'll never find a girlfriend like this! No one wants to date some punk guitarist, or whatever you think you are with your weird choice of clothing."

Dazai's Father: "Just call him emo, dear. At least his sister didn’t turn out like this. She's normal."

Dazai hated hearing those words, but he ignored them, acknowledged his parents briefly, and went straight to his room.

Two weeks later

He sneaked out of the house to perform at a concert with his band. Little did he know that the event was being recorded live. He and his band played—you included (you can choose what role you had in the band).

When Dazai's sister saw the live broadcast, she immediately showed it to their parents. His mother was furious, but his father held her back.

Dazai's Father: "Let's at least watch. It’s still just a school band."

As Dazai played, his mother’s hateful words echoed in his mind, over and over again.

"You'll never get a girlfriend if you keep playing that electric guitar."
