"Where are we?" Kori, commonly known as Starfire, questioned the teenage girl ahead of her. The world around the team was bleak, abandoned, forgotten, a ghost town. "Somewhere my father can't see us...." The gothic girl answered. Damian groaned. "Lets hear it." He complained as he knew this was one of those 'tragic backstories' the team didn't have time for.

"I guess it starts with my mom... She was young, rebellious and gullible. Of COURSE she wound up in a cult..." Raven continued on, shrugging her shoulders underneath her cloak a little bit. "Anyway, they decided to do the classic bride of Satan, right. I doubt anyone expected it to work, but the ancient ceremony turned out to be the real thing..." She murmured, turning away from the group. The story felt embarrassing to her, but she knew she had to explain.

"So mom, with her great powers and judgement, didn't hesitate to hook up with the guy who emerged from the smoke." She whispered, her voice remaining monotone. "So your MOM... Did it with Satan?!" Garfield asked with a purely shocked tone. "His name is 'trigon'. But basically yes..." Raven begrudgingly answered. "but they totally did!" Garfield muttered only to receive a smack to the back of the neck by Kori. "garfield! That was inappropriate, go on." Kori urged.

"Mom fled the cult and she gets saved by these people from another dimension. The people of Azarath-- a realm of beauty, peace, and tranquility. Needless to say I did not fit in. I must have inherited my mom's terrible judgement. Because I thought if I found out more about the monster who made me, I'd be able to make sense of myself." Raven paused, catching her breath. "He took me to his hellish universe, I could hardly bare the horrors I saw there." She sighed.

"Why did Trigon want you?" Kori continued to prod, wanting details. "He wanted Earth. He's a conqueror of worlds. But he needs a powerful conduit to open earth to his control." Raven spun back around to face the Team. "And you're half human... his way in." Damian whispered.
