The room was eerily quiet, the air crackling with tension. You stood frozen in the dimly lit chamber of the common room. Their eyes—piercing, accusing, furious—were all fixed on you.
Tom was the first to speak. “Explain,” he said, his dark eyes boring into yours.
“I—” Your voice faltered as you met his icy gaze. Around him, the others stood like a storm waiting to break, each of them radiating barely-contained fury.
Draco stepped forward. “You’ve been lying to us this whole time?” he snapped. “Pretending to be one of us? A De4th Eater?”
“It wasn’t like that—” you began, but Mattheo cut you off.
“Then what was it like?” he barked. His dark curls fell into his face as he leaned closer, his voice rising with each word. “Was it fun for you? Playing us? Watching us trust you?”
You looked at them, your chest tightening with each passing second. “I didn’t have a choice,” you said, your voice trembling. “DumbIed/re made me—he thought I could find out things, keep you from—”
“Keep us from what?” Blaise interjected, his tone calm but seething with quiet anger. “Go on. Enlighten us.”
Theodore, who had been silent until now, tilted his head. “Spying on us for the greater good, were you?” he said dryly.
Regulus let out a low, humorless laugh, shaking his head. “All this time,” he said. “You were just pretending. Every word, every moment—it was all a lie, wasn’t it?”
“Not all of it!” you said quickly, desperation creeping into your voice. “I didn’t want to do it! I didn’t—”
“You didn’t what?” Lorenzo interrupted. “Didn’t mean to manipulate us? Didn’t mean to betray the trust we gave you?”
The words hit you like blows, and you struggled to breathe under the weight of their accusations.
Mattheo let out a bitter laugh, pacing like a caged animal. “Unbelievable,” he muttered. “I actually thought—” He shook his head, his words trailing off, the betrayal too much for him to voice.
“You made us believe you were one of us,” Draco hissed, stepping closer. “And now you expect us to what? Forgive you?”
