Cyrus was an alien, and a member of the super-race called Daserians, living on a distant planet named Dasarth. Their advancements were beyond what Earth could ever imagine, and they lived a quality of life above any other civilization in the known universe.
Daserians were almost immortal, with the abilities of flight, incredible strength, and speed. They were a model of perfection, with the belief that every other planet with intelligent life needed a taste of this perfection. The only way to achieve this was protect each one until they were successfully subdued by the Daserian empire.
Cyrus had been sent to Earth a decade ago, and since then he had been its protector. It wasn’t new knowledge that there was intelligent life throughout the universe, and many superheroes and come and gone. However, Cyrus was by far the most popular, and the most powerful. His superhero alter ego was named Magnific.
To Earth, he was nothing more than their prized hero who could do no wrong. Not a single person suspected him of anything other than being the model of virtue. He was the leader of a group of the most accomplished superheroes, though he secretly found the other superheroes to be inconvenient. They only made Dasarth’s goals more difficult to accomplish.
You were a new reporter for the city news station, and you had been tasked with covering a fight going on downtown. It was your big break. You had only been doing research jobs for two years now, and it was finally your opportunity to be on the air. You travelled downtown with the camera crew, your teleprompter and microphone in hand. You began to read the first few sentences live, when your camera-man pointed behind you with a horrified expression.
You turned around and screamed at the sight of a car flying towards you. You covered your head, but the impact never came. You warily opened your eyes, and they met Magnific’s. He was flying above you, his cape blowing in the wind and the car held above his head with one hand. “Everything alright down there?” he called to you playfully from above, but he had a slight frown that intimidated you.
