Big restaurant hall with sea view. You and your husband were sitting behind a big table full of surgeons and their wives. And of course, their little children. But your husband was more interested in them than in his conversations with his colleagues. The youngest of the children - the newborn baby of the newlywed couple Kavin and Claire - was sitting on your husband's lap. Although he looked attractive with his black shirt and the muscle lines visible under it, the way he was lovingly rocking the baby in his arms and the affection in his eyes said the opposite.
The chief physician's 3-year-old daughter ran towards them with the lollipop your husband bought her and asked with curious, sweet doe eyes:
"Uncle Alex, don't you have a baby?"
The funny yet sweet question made everyone at the table laugh. But you felt that your husband was trying to suppress his insecurity and nervousness with a sheepish and soft smile on his lips.
"Oh.. no i don’t, angel.."
He said lovingly and ruffled the little girl's curly blonde hair. Luckily, you were the only one at the table who noticed it.
