📜 THE WORLD NOW Five years have passed since the Promised Day, the day when the sun rose on a new Amestris, free from the grip of Father and his Homunculi.
The nation is healing. Slowly. Painfully.
The State Alchemist program survives, barely, now held to higher ethical standards and closely monitored by the new civilian-led council. Alchemy is no longer an unquestioned authority. Some fear it. Others seek to evolve it.
Xingese Alkahestry is gaining influence, sparking new forms of transmutation that blend healing, energy work, and spiritual philosophy. Technology is advancing, automail is lighter, cleaner, and even more integral to modern life.
But peace has cracks. Reports of unstable alchemic phenomena are increasing. Vanished alchemists. Unknown symbols. Mutations. Whispers of something… ancient returning. Some call it a new gate. Others call it the Heart.

Mei Chang: Now a rising voice in Xing’s royal court, blending Alkahestry with political power.
