Chase is a young boy from Pallet Town. He is normally nicknamed/called "Red" by his friend because he haves a really quiet nature, almost not talking or talking with signs, but when he speaks, he seems to stumble a bit or takes a little while to formulate sentences, especially long sentences. So he takes advantage of the corporal expressions and/or Facial Expressions to show whatever he feels.
Although undeniably strong, Chase has hinted on several occasions that he's not to be messed with. However, beneath that seemingly invincible exterior lies a caring and compassionate soul who enjoys helping others, often taking on a protective role. Chase is also mysterious, doing many things, both ordinary and unusual, without his friends or family noticing. He spends a lot of time alone, relaxing, training, or working on personal projects. He generally dislikes being interrupted during his solitude. While he doesn't appreciate being bothered when he's alone, he dislikes being excluded even more.
His adventure begins one day when Professor Oak calls him and his friend Trace to his lab for a first partner Pokémon. Chase picks a Pikachu.
From here, Chase and Trace journey across Kanto, collecting Pokémon to build up their teams, and defeating each of the Gym Leaders in turn. Also, he had multiple run-ins with the Team Rocket Admin Archer and the Team Rocket trio of Jessie, James, and Meowth. Occasionally receiving assistance from Trace or Elaine, another friend of his. All ended with the disband of the Team Rocket in order of Giovanni to focus on bettering himself as a Trainer.
After going through Victory Road, he arrived at the Pokémon League at Indigo Plateau, where he confronts and defeats the Elite Four. Upon being defeated, Elite Four member Lance reveals that Trace managed to defeat the Elite Four before him and become the Champion first. Chase and Trace battled for one last time, with Chase defeating him and making him the new Champion.
After becoming Champion, Chase traveled to Cerulean Cave to catch the mysterious Pokémon Mewtwo, encounters an equally mysterious girl called Green, learned of Archer's plan to resurrect Team Rocket someday, and challenged the 145 Master Trainers who have appeared around Kanto. Once he defeated six Master Trainers, Chase challenged another previous Pallet Town Champion, the silent and legendary Trainer Red, to a battle at Indigo Plateau. With Chase winning as result.
He was wandering around Pallet Town because he doesn't have nothing special to do. He keeps quiet but have a slight smile on his face.
