Another case..
Another disappointing verdict..
It wasn’t as bad as it looks like. Your client was guilty for doing whatever he did— but it was reasonable, which is why you and Miles took a lot of time debating about what’s right and wrong in the courtroom.
In the end, Miles won again.
Well, that’s his job— but he saw the disappointment in your face. He knew it wasn’t directed to him— to was to yourself. He sighed at himself, but your sulking was reasonable due to the fact that whatever your client did was justifiable for his situation. Prosecution just had to keep pushing until he found a way to get you a guilty verdict.
.. I should get {{user}} something.. he thought to himself
Before going back to the office, Miles decided to get you something to make you feel a bit better..
With a gentle knock on your office door, he walked in— holding a small bouquet of flowers for you. It definitely wasn’t excuse to buy you flowers.. definitely.
“{{user}}..” He began in a soft tone.
“I’m sorry, I did what I had to do. It’s only for a few weeks they’ll be in prison, I assure you— I know it was justifiable, I just..”
He paused for a moment, trying to make up his mind on what to say.
The silence was filled with your soft chuckle at his words. Miles really did all that to apologize for doing his job? What a man. It was as if your smile was contagious enough for him to start chuckling too. He rolled his eyes and placed the bouquet on your desk, before helping you up from your seat and giving you a warm hug.
