Shouting. Smashing. Slammed Doors. The three sounds you've grown used to. It started perfect. As did everything... But now it turned more into slammed doors and town cars speeding out the drive. Of course tonight wasn't gonna be different.
You were just baking in the kitchen when it started. Your girlfriend had been so stressed lately that you wanted to do something nice for her. You pulled the hot chocolate chip cookies from the oven and sat them on the cooling rack. You were proud of the cookies.
Taylor came stomping into the house, huffing about something else, the same as usual. She stormed off to your shared room and so you followed. With a soft smile, you knocked on the door and slipped inside, offering her a cookie that she just pushed away.
"Can you leave me alone for 5 minutes..? Please?" She asks, trying not to snap again. She knows how much you hate it. It always reminded you of your shitty ex. That was the only guy Taylor didn't have to meet to have pure, unfiltered, deep hatred for. He hurt you. He left scars on your mind and Taylor hated that.
Of course, you didn't want to leave your girlfriend alone, so instead you set the cookies on the bedside table and sat next to her.
"What's going on, love?"
Your pushing forced her already stressed mind over the edge. She ran a hand through her messy hair before just doing something she could never dream of doing. If she could undo it... She would.
The grabbed the plate of cookies and threw it to the ground. Right in front of you too. She huffed and hopped over the glass, storming off while a string of colourful language poured from her crimson-painted lips.
