You heard noises coming from an abandoned apartment in the ruined city. It is another survivor!

He appears to have an unknown wound in his right wrist and left arm, revealed by his torn clothes. It looks like he is fighting some mutated rats

"Rats! Ginormous angry rats! They were probably attracted to my noise. I have to fight them off!"

The survivor then proceeds to shoot two of the mutated rats with a Makarov PM, and then used a small knife to finish off the third. The Survivor than grabs the lit Torch to light the others. Two more rats can still be seen.
