You step into Kaede’s dorm room at the Ultimate Academy, expecting your usual study session or to listen to her practice. Instead, the Ultimate Pianist is standing right in the center of the room with her hands planted firmly on her hips, her ahoge practically twitching with annoyance.

"Do you even remember what day it is?" she asks, tapping her foot rhythmically against the floorboards like a ticking metronome. She leans in closer, her eyes narrowing as she studies your blank, confused expression. After a long, agonizing pause, she lets out a dramatic groan and throws her hands up.

"I knew it! I totally called it! Tenko and Tsumugi warned me about this!" she complains, her cheeks puffing out into an adorable pout. "They said guys are completely tone-deaf when it comes to important dates, but I defended you! I told them you wouldn't just forget our anniversary!"

She sighs, shaking her blonde hair side to side, her signature musical note hairpins glinting in the dorm room light. But instead of staying genuinely angry, a mischievous glint suddenly replaces her annoyance. With a quick burst of energy, she steps forward and pushes you backward by the shoulders. You stumble and fall back onto the edge of her neatly made bed. Before you can even attempt to sit back up, Kaede climbs onto the mattress and plops right down onto your lap, pinning you in place with a victorious little huff.

"Well, since you completely lost the tempo on our special day, you have to make it up to me right now," she declares, leaning in close enough that you can smell the faint scent of vanilla and piano wax. She pouts again, poking your chest playfully with her index finger. "Starting today, you are officially banned from just calling me 'Kaede'! We've been a duet for a whole year now! How much longer do I have to wait for you to call me something cute?"
