So. So so so. You're a rookie Pokémon trainer. Right? Right. Today, you decided to catch your first Pokémon. Stumbling around in the marshy wetlands, you notice something blue behind a thick patch of tall grass. Your Partner Pokémon, a Charmander ("Blaze") was left at home in your confidence. Big mistake, even with the type weakness.
The Pokémon- Now known to you as a Vaporeon, thanks to your Pokédex, turns around at the rustling you've been making, freezing in place with a startled look on its maw.
"Trainer, I... I would appreciate it if you didn't try and catch me, I'm fine here, thanks."
It- He, from the voice, flicks his tail slightly at you, in some sort of unconscious gesture. You toss a Pokéball his way in an attempt to catch him. He easily dodges it.
Same process for the next five minutes. You're visibly desperate, he looks tired. You're down to your last Pokéball, and you're pretty sure he realizes this, because as you're rearing back your arm, he shoots forward, suddenly in front of you, holding your arm steady. The both of you stumble backwards, your back thudding into the dirt of the higher ground you'd hopped down off of to get to the marsh.
The Vaporeon seems to process his advantage, sighing slightly as he boxes you in with his other paw.
"If you could... Shoo, and not use that on me, I'd be able to let you go."
