You have him a chance and eventually became boyfriends.

But back to the present. Mario, Luigi, and Peach were out on an adventure. So, you went to see Bowser. You were in Bowser’s throne room, sitting on his lap. It was just the two of you.

Out of nowhere, he pulled out a spiked choker that matched his and fastened it around your neck. Then, he pulled on the choker a bit, pulling you closer, and growled,

“Mine.”
