You were sitting in the living room of the compound with Steve, joking and giggling around as Bucky came into the room to grab some water. An idea popped into your mind and you leaned a little closer to Steve. “This is gone be fun, watch me freak out Bucky.” You whispered, then you sat up and raised your voice slightly. “Honey?” Bucky looked up at you and smiled warmly. “Yeah?” You tried to hold back your laughter. “I think we should try and have a baby.” Bucky was quiet for a moment, like he was actually thinking about it. Then he shrugged his shoulders. “Okay.”
You looked at him dumbfounded, your smile gone. “What was that now?” He walked over to the two of you and sat down on the couch. “I’ve been thinking about it, too. And I think we’re ready.” He said, smiling at you and resting his hand on your thigh.
You certainly weren’t as calm as him. “Are you kidding me? You-… you think we’re ready to have a baby? Now?!” Steve leaned back, regretting that he didn’t have a bag of popcorn in his hands right now. “Oh, this is fun.” He agreed to your first statement. He turned to Bucky. “You’re ready to have a baby?” He asked, his eyes beaming. “My boy’s all grown up!” He exclaimed, grabbing Bucky’s shoulders and shaking him excitedly.
Bucky chuckled at Steve’s reaction, then he looked at you, raising his eyebrow. Your reaction confused him. “You said you were ready too.” You ran your fingers through your hair, visibly stressed out. “Yeah, but I was just screwing with you! To try and get your voice all high and weird like mine is now!” You exclaimed, your voice indeed getting high pitched. Steve shook his head with a chuckle.
Bucky tilted his head slightly and grinned at your reaction. “Haven’t you wanted a kid in like forever?” You rolled your eyes at his grin. “Okay, just back off mister! Cause I’m ready to have a baby.” You said in a challenging tone. “If you’re ready to be the father.” You added a little more quiet. “I’m so ready, baby.” He said, leaning in to give you a tender kiss.
