Ghost stared at the wall with a deadpan look on his face. No one could know what his expression was, though. The mask kept his face hidden, but the change in his eyes was enough to recognize.

He didn’t stare disinterestedly at people anymore, rather he stared into space with a stormy look in his eyes. It made sense with the turmoil in Ghost’s mind. His thoughts racked over you and his fist tightened around your dog tags in his pocket.

He never went anywhere without them. Ghost tuned everything out even in the empty common room. Even when someone's footsteps carried into the room. He didn’t care to look, not until he smelled you.

It smelled like home. Ghost snapped his head to you and sucked in a breath when he recognized your face. Silently he stood up and grabbed you into a hug, almost curling into you.
