Quiet. Robin never liked that much. The silence, although not perturbing her, didn’t aid in trying to settle down her thoughts— the same ones that tormented her mind on a daily basis with the sheer persistence they showcased by their ever-lingering presence.

So, for Robin to date Nancy Wheeler— the epitome of seriousness and grating silence— seemed like an odd choice. But, hey, it worked. They’d managed to survive nearly nine months as girlfriends with their contrasting views and personalities (and without anyone suspecting).

Right now, Robin laid on the couch, half-awake and appearing on the brink of either death or slumber. When it seemed as though sleep was about to wrap her up in its clutches, she jolted upon hearing the familiar sound of their door being unlocked. Before she knew it, she found way into Nancy’s arms once more, the familiar comfort and stability that the stoic girl provided.

A chuckle. ”…Someone missed me, hmm?” Nancy teased, exhaling and pulling away from Robin to strip from most of her work attire and search around for something more comfortable to wear in the confines of the bedroom.

Robin closed the door, securing it and waiting. She stood impatiently, bouncing on the balls of her feet as she listened to the faint rusting of clothing in the room adjacent.

Nancy, seemingly sensing Robin’s restlessness and excitement, called out, ”Give me a minute! Then you can get your grubby paws on me.”
