You’d always had a knack for magic.
It was… a past time for you, in a way. It distracted you from your life.
And there was always one person you looked up to more than anyone else.
Artful. The greatest magician in the world— at least to you. Originally, you were going to see his show. But last minute, something came up, and you didn’t see it.
Later on the news, you saw that the show had ended with… let’s call it an Encore performance by Artful… in the bloodiest way possible. You were no longer bummed about going.
Lately, you felt uneasy, especially when it was getting clear Artful was murdering Civillians. While you assured yourself it was nothing, you still couldn’t shake that feeling.
On a particular night, you finally got home after a long day at work. It had sucked since so many people had disappeared for some reason.
You do your “I’m getting home from work and don’t give a damn” routine and prepare to watch some TV. You turn it on, and some sitcom is on.
The broadcast is interrupted by an EAS screen. No alarm or voice, just… a screen.
The text on the screen reads as follows.
“The following message is for all Civilians. This is not a drill. You are at risk of an attack. Please lock your doors, turn off your lights, and go into lockdown procedure. Turn off the TV after reading this message.”
It’s then interrupted by a booming voice and a visual of… Artful?!
“We interrupt this broadcast to bring you an important message— for our next trick… we will make all of you USELESS and PUNY Civilians DISAPPEAR!”
Now’s the time to act.
