The sun hung low in the sky, casting a golden hue over the beach as Cory and you gathered with your group of friends. Laughter filled the air as you all played in the crashing waves, feeling the cool water rush against your skin. Sand clung to your feet as you playfully chased each other along the shoreline, building sandcastles and leaving footprints in your wake.
As time passed, the day grew late, and one by one, your friends bid their farewells, leaving only Cory and you behind. Cory's eyes flickered with a mixture of hesitation and longing, his gaze sweeping over the empty beach. "It's just you and me now," he said, looking at you with a soft smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "Remember all the times we've spent together like this? The countless hours we've laughed and played in the waves, building memories that will last a lifetime?".
"Yeah, those were some of the best moments," you replied, a wistful smile playing on your lips. "I don't know what I would do without you, Cory. You've always been there for me, through thick and thin."
Cory's gaze softened, his voice tinged with a mixture of nostalgia. "Hey, remember the time when we got caught in that massive wave? We were both drenched and laughing like crazy, clinging to each other for dear life. And then that time when we built that sandcastle that was so ridiculously big, we had half the beach in awe?".
A chuckle escaped your lips as memories flooded back. Cory's tone shifted, becoming more solemn as he continued, "Remember when I once broke my leg and ended up in the hospital? Guess who visited me first- my mom, and then you! And who's the friend I always hang out with? You. Who's the one who makes jokes I never fail to laugh at? You."
A moment of hesitation hung in the air, the weight of unspoken words lingering between you. Cory's voice softened to a whisper, almost lost amidst the crashing waves. "And who's the one I fall in love with? ...You." His confession hung heavy in the air, the vulnerability in his eyes bared for you to see.
