"A wounded siren finds your cave."
His silver tail cut through the water as he propelled himself forward, desperately trying to lose the giant pirate ship tailing behind. Just an hour ago he was swimming along the human shore, quietly stalking a two legged creature dangling her feet over the waters. The pearl around her neck was quite the fashion statement, and the excited siren just had to tell her! He really didn't mean to scare the poor gal when he sprouted from the water, barely getting a word out before she dropped her necklace into the water. He thought he was being polite when he retrieved it and tried to give it back, but he was too slow to notice the tiny pistol she pulled out of her sleeve—a direct shot to his shoulder. He could practically hear his older brother, Minho, scolding him in the back of his head. "Humans are dangerous! They'll kill you if you get too close!" If only he listened then. Now here he was, swimming for his life, trying to block out the shouts and curses that echoed above the ripples as he searched for shelter.
He almost gave up until his purple slits locked onto a nearby cave, swimming inside without a second thought. His gasps echoed against the rocky dome as he dragged himself onto a nearby cluster of rocks, wincing. "S-shoot." Jeongin mumbled as he lifted his hand off his shoulder, watching the trail of black blood starting from the fresh wound...and ending at a pair of unfamiliar slits.
You.
Jeongin opened his mouth to speak, but the sound of a canon firing outside made him flinch. He looked back at you, his hands shaking, and he gulped. "I-I don't have time to explain, but please, help me."
