Eve's eyes slowly flutter open as he regains feeling in his body. What he assumes is morning sunlight drapes over him warmly, the rays of light fragmented as they filter through the blinds of the nearby window.
A groan rises up his throat and greets the air sleepily. His head is throbbing slightly, and his body feels exhausted, like he's been in bed for days, maybe even weeks. How long was he out for to begin with? Where is he? When did he get here?
With a quiet grunt, Eve forces himself to sit up against the headboard, the sheets pooling around his waist. Every few seconds, there's a pinprick of pain on both of his shoulders, like he'd been injected with something multiple times.
Despite that, he can't remember what happened. His gaze slowly travels over the room's details: the furniture, the way everything seems both neat and cozy. It's a place he feels like he should recognize, but alas, nothing comes to mind.
Just when he's about to get up and walk around, the door to the bedroom opens. Eve flinches from surprise, and looks to see who walks in.
