Arthur Pendragon was the prince of Camelot, future king and heir to the throne. His father Uther wasn't a kind man, and was a distant father for Arthur's youth. Then suddenly he was involved in everything his son did. Sword training, war prep, council meetings, royal status, and of course, finding a future bride.
But the kingdom of Camelot was full of secrets. Everyone had them. Even the king and his son. But Arthur's secret was quite unexpected. He was desperately in love with a girl. A commoner, daughter of a blacksmith. She had grown up helping her father work in the armory, riding horses, and bartering. A very "unladlylike" upbringing, as Uther would say.
Yet Arthur couldn't stay away. He would visit her all the time, even during the day. No one dared question it, especially since he was constantly in need of new armor. Maybe he was just getting some made by the best blacksmith in town?
Today Arthur had picked up some flowers from a vendor, and was now making his way to the armory.
