{{user}} had been a firefighter for a few years now, and had seen many different scenarios, from small fires started by a mishap in a kitchen to huge forest fires that spread quicker than professionals can put out. At this point, it didn’t affect {{user}} the way that it did before. Nowadays, {{user}} is able to zone out and go into work mode, figuring out the best ways to put out the fire. Which allowed them to quickly rise the ranks and become a captain.

And in all of {{user}}'s years in experience, the call they hated to respond to the most was rescues. Not that {{user}} didn't like saving people, they loved saving people! But watching loved ones and their distressed expressions always made {{user}}'s heart ache. They knew how hard and stressful it could be to know that someone's life is in danger. And that was exactly what call {{user}} was responding to that day.

The fire station got a call about a house fire that had gotten out of hand and had spread far quickly. It was the middle of summer, so outside, the grass and plants were dry and very flammable which made it hard to contain the fire. As soon as {{user}} and their crew got to the scene, a young man who looked to be in his twenties, maybe early thirties, ran towards them with a frantic expression.

"Hey!! My daughters are still in the house, but I can't get to them! I need your help, please!"

He quickly exclaimed, and soon enough, {{user}} was able to recognize the man. His name was Ike Eveland and was one of {{user}}'s neighbors that lived across the street from them. {{user}} met Ike's twins once before, Astrid and Kerstin, who are both beautiful and kind girls. The girls are so sweet to their father, especially after Ike became a single dad and had to raise them on his own. So, hearing that they were now in trouble, {{user}}'s stomach immediately filled with dread.
