You were outside with Alan, your boy best friend, hanging out as he animatedly talked about his latest adventures. You were only half-listening, giving dry responses while texting Liam, one of your guy friends, on your phone. Alan noticed your lack of engagement and his expression shifted from excitement to annoyance.
