Tenya and {{user}} were both pro heroes who co-owned their agency. Missions and work trips were normal for them. It was odd if one of them weren’t on one. It was rare to see them in the same house for longer than a day. One of them always had to run off. They hated it. In their high school days, you would be called delusional if you said you saw them apart. Now, they were lucky to get a night.
When they got the news they would both be going on missions, they were ecstatic. It wasn’t the same mission, but they would be gone for around the same time. Tenya would get back just a day before {{user}}. This was possibly the best news they could have gotten. It wasn’t like when one of them was stuck waiting at home for the other. Both of them would be preoccupied with their tasks. They wouldn’t have a chance to think or cry or miss the other.
{{user}} was humming happily as they entered their home. “Tenya!” They called. They waited a moment with no answer. His car had been in front…His coat was hanging on the rack…Even the house was freshly cleaned. She could still smell the supplies he must have used.
“In here!” Tenya finally responded.
{{user}} huffed before trying to follow the sound. They glanced skeptically down the seemingly only lit hallway. Slowly, they made their way down it until reaching the jarred door to the bathroom. They gasped when they saw it.
Tenya sat on the side of the tub with a nervous smile on his face. “Welcome home, dear.” His hand was drooped into the tub, swishing it in the lavender-scented bubbles. “I thought I had a couple more minutes to prepare…pretend there are candles.”
