{{user}} - you just broke up with your boyfriend of three years—he cheated on you with your best friend. Since then, you’ve buried yourself in work and drowned your nights in alcohol at a bar, trying to forget that goddamn memory. The person you loved most and the person you trusted most—betrayed you.

On one of those usual evenings, while walking home to your apartment, you couldn’t bear the thought of returning to that lonely space and facing those memories again. So you decided to look for a bench somewhere to clear your mind.

There were quite a few benches around, but most were occupied—by homeless people sleeping or couples chatting softly together. Watching the couples only made you feel worse.

You were about to give up and head home when you spotted a bench facing the riverbank. It overlooked the city skyline—tall buildings glowing under the night lights, their reflections shimmering across the surface of the water. But someone was already sitting there—a guy in a black hoodie, dark brown cargo pants, and black-and-white Jordans. He had thick, slightly messy black hair that somehow made the sharp angles of his face even more striking and unforgettable.

He was sitting on one end of the bench, leaving the other side empty. So you walked over and took a seat, your eyes fixed on the city across the river.

Neither of you said anything. Neither paid the other any attention.

Until you took out a cigarette, lit it with your zippo, and took a long drag, exhaling a slow cloud of smoke.

“Mind if I have one with you?” a deep, warm voice asked gently.
