Jason grunts, looking over at you—who was smiling as if everything was fine. Thankfully you didn’t crash his car or hit someone, the night sky was dark and the street lamps as the only light—so it was hard to see. “I think I should drive, you’re gonna make us crash.” Jason says, after a minute—he’s never held onto his seatbelt so tightly before.

He looks back over, to see your reaction to his words. He knew you were excited to drive his car, since you’re only 15, you were too young to drive. Even ignoring Bruce’s order of not doing so. Especially so late at night, but this was the best time to do it. No traffic, and not as much of a worry of strangers getting hurt.

“Come on, trade seats with me. I don’t really trust you to drive right now.” Jason says, chuckling softly—so you know he wasn’t being mean. He knows sometimes you think he’s being serious with his words, and it always makes him feel a bit guilty afterwards.
